Experience Overview

Two nights each in Sonmarg, Gulmarg, Srinagar and Pahalgam, so no valley gets rushed. A dedicated chef travels with the group, which means familiar food arrives hot at 8,000 feet. This is Kashmir taken at walking pace, with four-star stays throughout and someone else worrying about dinner.

Mornings bring a gentle glacier walk in Sonmarg, the Gondola’s Phase 1 lift into Gulmarg’s high meadow, a 6 am shikara ride past Dal Lake’s floating vegetable sellers, and an old-city walk through Srinagar’s bakeries. Pahalgam closes the trip with the Lidder river and short drives to Betaab valley and Aru.

The valley climbs from Sonmarg’s glacier-fed river to Gulmarg’s alpine bowl above 3,000 metres, then settles into Srinagar’s lakes and Mughal terraced gardens before Pahalgam’s cold, loud river town. A dedicated vegetarian chef travels throughout, so the food stays as familiar as the scenery changes.

Some moments are built for lingering: your chef handing hot pakoras through a houseboat window while it rains on Dal Lake; the Gondola cresting the ridge as the whole Kongdoori bowl opens up white below; and a 6 am shikara gliding past the floating vegetable market, lotus leaves brushing the hull.

Built for multi-generation families, pure-veg households, and anyone who has postponed Kashmir waiting for the right plan. Not for travellers chasing nightlife or a packed adventure roster — the pace here is deliberately unhurried, and evenings end early.

FAQs

Everything you
need to know

Is Kashmir suitable for elderly parents?

Arrow

Yes, with design. Routing keeps drives to two–three hours, hotels are four-star with lifts or ground-floor rooms on request, and ponies or sledges cover the Thajiwas and Gulmarg stretches. The chef adapts salt, oil and spice to medical needs — just tell your curator ages and mobility upfront.

What does the veg kitchen actually include?
