Experience Overview
The last race of the season carries a weight unlike any other, with championships having been decided at Yas Marina on more than one occasion. The race begins at 5 pm in the warmth of December, gradually transitions into a spectacular floodlit night race, and ends with a live concert instead of the usual journey home.
Race sessions shape each afternoon, with practice on Friday, qualifying on Saturday, and the season finale on Sunday, 6 December. Mornings are reserved for exploring Yas Island and Saadiyat, from Ferrari World and the Louvre Abu Dhabi to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque before it becomes busy. Evenings continue with headline concerts at Etihad Park, included with every race ticket.
Yas Marina delivers Formula 1 in one of its most comfortable and visually stunning settings. Grandstands overlook a marina filled with superyachts, while the illuminated W Hotel changes colour above the circuit as the racing unfolds. December temperatures of around 26°C during the day and cooler evenings make it an ideal time to experience the event.
Some moments stay with you long after the race ends—the anticipation on the starting grid as the sun sets over the marina, the seamless transition to floodlights during the race, the podium celebrations that bring the Formula 1 season to a close, and the walk to the concert surrounded by thousands of fans reliving the final laps. Perfect for those wanting to witness the season’s conclusion live, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix also offers an excellent balance of racing, attractions, and entertainment for families and mixed groups.
