Europe as a Lab
Not a Postcard

Where physics, chemistry and history meet

Programme Overview

Beyond the classroom.
History as the origin story.

Somewhere under the Franco-Swiss border, protons complete 11,000 laps of a 27-kilometre ring every second. This eight-night journey walks students through Europe’s working science — physics, chemistry, aviation, automotive engineering — with history folded in wherever it explains the science, from Stuttgart’s car museums to Grasse’s centuries-old perfume houses. Every visit carries a written learning outcome your faculty approves in advance.

EDUCATIONAL TRAVEL
  • A guided visit to a working particle-physics laboratory outside Geneva.
  • A hands-on perfume-lab session building a three-note fragrance.
  • A compare-and-contrast study of 140 years of automotive design at two museums.
  • A guided tour of an active aircraft assembly line in Hamburg.
  • A post-trip presentation students prepare and deliver to school assembly.
Programme Schedule
Day 1

Arrival & Geneva Orientation

Arrive in Geneva, an orientation walk along the lake, and an early night before the anchor day ahead.

Day 2

The Physics of Everything

A guided visit to the particle-physics laboratory, standing above the world’s largest machine and working through a scale exercise mapped onto the students’ own city.

Day 3

Grasse & the Chemistry of Scent

Travel south to Provence for a working perfume-lab session, building a three-note fragrance and learning why the third attempt beats the first.

Day 4

Stuttgart & the Benz Museum

The Benz museum from the 1886 Patent-Motorwagen onward, tracing the first car through 140 years of engineering decisions.

Day 5

The Porsche Museum

A compare-and-contrast exercise in design philosophy at the Porsche museum, students debating the differences on the coach after.

Day 6

Hamburg & the Scale of Flight

A guided tour of an Airbus factory, watching aircraft sections come together on an assembly line measured in football pitches.

Day 7

Reflection & Departure

A closing session turning the week into outline slides for the post-trip school

The same system travels with the group: vetted hotels and transport partners in every city, staff-to-student ratios fixed in writing before booking, two 24×7 Picknic tour managers throughout, per-student travel and medical insurance, and a daily WhatsApp update to parents each evening.
