Germany to Paris
Engines, Alps and CERN

German car plants, the Swiss Alps, a particle-physics centre, then Paris.

Programme Overview

Engineering
to the Alps and back.

Three countries, one throughline: how things are made and how the world is measured. This tour runs a school group from German engineering floors — the Porsche and Mercedes-Benz museums, the Black Forest, BMW’s Munich plant — through the Swiss Alps at Titlis and Jungfrau to a CERN visitor session outside Geneva, then lands in Paris for the Eiffel Tower and a day at Euro Disney. The car museums, BMW and CERN are guided tours and visitor sessions, not workshops or lab classes, and the alpine days are weather-led — Titlis and Jungfrau excursions can shift if the mountain closes in.

Learning Outcomes
  • Porsche and Mercedes-Benz museum tours in Stuttgart, seeing a century of automotive engineering up close.
  • A cuckoo-clock workshop and Triberg Falls in the Black Forest, then a guided tour of BMW's Munich plant.
  • Alpine cable-car days at Mount Titlis and Mount Jungfrau, weather permitting.
  • A visitor session at CERN outside Geneva, where the Large Hadron Collider measures the universe.
  • The Eiffel Tower and a guided Paris city tour, closing out the trip.

FAQs

Everything you
need to know

How is a group this large kept safe and supervised across five cities?

Arrow

We run one chaperone per ten senior students, always including a female chaperone, and all Picknic staff are police-verified and first-aid certified. Coach transfers between cities are with vetted operators, hotels are booked as secure group blocks, and parents receive an evening WhatsApp update with photos, headcounts and the next day's plan.

How far ahead should we book, and what about CERN access and visas?

What's included, and how is a school group costed?
