Picknic built this ten-day trip around a three-day Space School at the Kennedy Space Center, where students spend their mornings building lunar rovers and robotic arms rather than reading about them. The Space School runs orientation, a lunar-rover build, lunch with an astronaut, a robotic-arm build, motion simulators, a robotics competition and a graduation certificate across three mornings. Orlando anchors the first half — with Universal Studios and Sea World folded in — while Niagara, Washington and New York fill the second. The astronaut sessions are presentations and Q&A, not private lab time, and every student needs a US B-2 visa, so the Chennai consulate interview slot is the long pole.

How are students kept safe on a ten-day trip this far from home?
One chaperone per eight students for the junior classes, one per ten for seniors, always including a female chaperone. Every Picknic tour manager travels with the group throughout, hotels are vetted and booked on multiple-sharing, a doctor-on-call tie-up covers each city, and parents get an evening WhatsApp update with photos, headcounts and the next day's plan.
