The build starts six months out with the US visa process and main-sale tickets timed to official windows, never scalpers. San Francisco buys your last supplies and your last mattress for a week, before the seven-hour drive in via Reno and the gate queue that ends with you coated in playa dust and officially home.
Inside, no schedule survives — the camp handles food and shade while art cars roam a clock-face grid around the Man. Saturday closes with 70,000 people in a circle as the Man burns; Sunday’s Temple burn runs in near silence, the loudest city on earth going quiet on purpose.
