Experience Overview
CES is where consumer technology sets its agenda for the year, and the 2027 edition is the show’s 60th anniversary. Hardware brands, mobility players, chipmakers and retail buyers converge on the Las Vegas Convention Center and the Venetian for four days in January. For an Indian hardware or D2C brand chasing US shelf space, nothing substitutes.
A delegation’s week runs on appointments. Mornings go to booked meetings with retail buyers, distributors and component partners; afternoons to competitor teardowns on the show floor and press-facing time if you exhibit. Evenings are for the suite dinners where actual terms get discussed. The team meets nightly to re-rank the next day’s targets.
Las Vegas absorbs the show but charges for it. Rooms within walking distance of the LVCC run three to four times normal rates and sell through by autumn — we contract by September 2026. Monorail and shuttle queues eat mornings, so we stage the team by hall cluster. January desert nights drop near 5°C; pack accordingly.
Some moments are built for lingering: the first morning the LVCC doors open and the crowd surge tells you what the year’s story is; a buyer turning your prototype over twice before asking for pricing; the quiet suite meeting at 9 pm where a distribution conversation finally turns specific.
Go if you build consumer hardware, mobility tech or D2C products and hold a valid US visa with American buyers to meet. Skip it if visas are not in hand — interview backlogs from India run months — or if you sell services; CES buyers came for product.
